Thank you for taking the time to pray for us!
Here are some major answers to prayer!
- Our church's annual mission's fundraiser raised a little over $11,000 (after expenses)! That money will be able to help cover half the student's support!
- 2 of our 3 student leaders going are now fully funded! The other student is approximately 2/3 of the way there and the adults are also nearly there.
- All team members have now received passports
- Team members are presently getting necessary shots (each member needs between 4-7 shots to go!)
- Ministry details are coming together very nicely! We'll provide more details as they are finalized.
The following are items that are at the forefront of our prayer concerns (we will adjust these items as they change):
- For financial needs to be met. We have come a LONG way in a short time! God has truly moved and answered our prayers. While we are still a little short of necessary funding, we are doing very well and enjoying watching God work! Thanks to the oil spill and other global/national issues, along with unanticipated expenses, our budget has ballooned a little; however, we are still on track. Pray for God to stir the hearts of believers and the remaining money to come in.
- Documentation. Now that we have passports in we are trying to get them pulled together with a five page application to send to the Kenyan embassy for Visas to enter the country. We cannot complete the applications until we have airline tickets. Pray this happens sooner than later.
- Preparation and details. Right now we are trying to put in place plans to plant a new church among the Maasai people. There is much that goes into this. Please pray for wisdom, understanding, patience, flexibility and discernment as we step through the process of planning and preparing for this awesome task!
- Also pray for the remaining details to be worked out accordingly (namely in-country transportation costs, airline tickets costs, lodging and costs, insurance costs, issues booking airline tickets due to schedule conflicts, etc.)
- Anxiety/Stress. With so much going on in the lives of those going (adults and students alike), there is much stress beginning to set in. Students (2 of which are graduating this year) are trying to prepare for tests, final projects, college, school clubs, and more, plus raise the remaining money needed to go to Kenya, plus train and prepare for this journey. Pray for God to causing a holy stiring in all of our hearts for Him and His work that would overcome the stress and worry.
